The choice to extend the FRP of sugarcane was taken on the assembly of the Cupboard Committee on Financial Affairs (CCEA), chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Rs 25 per quintal hike is the very best by the Modi authorities and the transfer comes forward of the overall elections.

Sugarcane is grown primarily in Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, and Karnataka. “Conserving in view curiosity of sugarcane farmers (GannaKisan), the Cupboard Committee on Financial Affairs has permitted Honest and Remunerative Worth (FRP) of sugarcane for sugar season 2024-25 (October – September) at Rs 340 per quintal for a fundamental restoration price of 10.25 per cent,” I&B Minister Anurag Thakur mentioned at a media briefing.

The FRP has been decided on the premise of suggestions of the Fee for Agricultural Prices and Costs (CACP) and after session with state governments and different stakeholders.
